Born from a Need for Trust (10 Years of Nanny Zoo)
The Genesis
Ten years ago, the process of hiring a caregiver or domestic staff was often described as a roll of the dice. Standards were inconsistent, professional training was scarce, and families were constantly navigating the anxiety of placing trust in an unknown person.
Our Founder, recognising this critical gap, established Nanny Zoo Pvt Ltd not just as another placement agency, but as an Institute of Professional Care. The vision was singular: to transform domestic and specialized care from an informal sector into a respected, reliable, and highly-skilled career path.
The Foundation: Training First, Always
The initial focus was simple but revolutionary: training must precede placement. Starting with our first small group of Nannies, we introduced rigorous screening, certified First Aid training, and a mandatory curriculum designed to instill competence and confidence.
This commitment immediately set Nanny Zoo apart. We were able to promise families something no one else could: a professional, vetted, and trained caregiver—a true standard of excellence.
The Evolution
From Local Nannies to Global Care
As demand for our highly-trained Nannies grew in South Africa, so did the recognition that our model was scalable. Over the last decade, Nanny Zoo strategically expanded to meet the full spectrum of household needs: We launched our Specialised Care Division (Home Frail Care, Special Needs) to address complex needs with empathy and skill.
We created the Home Management Division (Housekeepers, Gardeners) to bring the same level of professionalism and vetting to the entire household. Crucially, we established our International Placement Network, proving that our South African training standards could compete and succeed on the global stage.
